Collaborators of Intact Genomics have diligently completed the analysis of various Agrobacterium strains for antibiotic sensitivity and resistance to many common antibiotics. As an aid to our customers with their research, we present the below information.
Notes on Experiment:
- Plates were incubated at 28.5 oC for three days.
- Tests were performed in LB agar (1.7%) with the appropriate antibiotics.
- Cells were tested by streaking a loopful of stationary culture grown in 2xYT with 25 µg/ml Rifampicin at 30 oC for 1-2 days.
Growth with colonies – means that there were good size isolated colonies after three days.
Growth with no colonies – means that the cells grew but grew very poorly and that the cells are partially sensitive.
Growth in concentrated area – means that the cells are partially resistant.
NA- not tested. - The strains EHA105 and AGL1 are generally slow growers and patience is required in the experiment.
- Antibiotics were made fresh and used within 0-2 days (this 2 day experiment used frozen stock from day 0)
Agrobacterium Competent Cells
Using Propriety methods, Intact Genomics has developed and manufactured a variety of Agrobacterium chemically and electroporation competent cells with high efficiency. Agrobacterium strains include EHA105, LBA4404, GV3101 and AGL-1. All are useful for plant transgenic operations in a variety of species.
