Founded in 2013, the company is located in a beautiful, safe, and quiet suburb of St. Louis, Missouri, near Bayer Crop Science Headquarters, the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center, and Washington University in St. Louis. Our History

Founded in 2013 in St. Louis, Missouri, USA, Intact Genomics is a biotechnology company dedicated to advancing life science research through high-quality, innovative, and affordable molecular biology products.

A Shared Vision for Research Excellence

The company was founded by first-generation immigrants Dr. Chengcang Charles Wu and Rosa Ye, his wife and collaborator of more than 30 years, driven by a shared passion for life sciences and a commitment to creating better tools for researchers. Today, Intact Genomics is supported by a diverse team of experienced professionals united by a strong commitment to serving customers and advancing life science research worldwide.

Leadership in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology

Dr. Wu is a world-renowned expert in large-fragment DNA cloning and BAC library technologies, the inventor of Fungal Artificial Chromosomes (FAC), a major contributor to the first soybean physical map, and one of the leading inventors of plant artificial chromosomes. Before founding Intact Genomics, Dr. Wu served as the founding Vice President of Genome Technology Development and Custom Services at Lucigen Corporation. During his tenure, he led the development of innovative products and technologies and played a key role in helping grow Lucigen from a biotech startup into a leading manufacturer of molecular biology products. Lucigen was later acquired by LGC Biosearch Technologies in 2018.

Overcoming Obstacles to Achieve Scientific Excellence

Dr. Wu rose from humble beginnings. Although his parents were illiterate, he dreamed from an early age of becoming a great scientist. He earned his Ph.D. in Japan and moved to the United States as a postdoctoral researcher in 1999. Through hard work, perseverance, and scientific achievement, he built a distinguished career in molecular biology and biotechnology innovation.

Driven by Reliability: Our Global Growth

Recognizing that many products on the market did not provide the reliability his research demanded, Dr. Wu and his team began developing high-efficiency competent cells, novel enzymes, and more advanced research tools at Intact Genomics and bringing them to market. Their commitment to quality, performance, and affordability quickly earned the trust of customers. Since 2013, the company has grown to serve customers in all 50 U.S. states and more than 20 countries worldwide.
